Nick Bohle is a professional Canadian actor (ACTRA), composer, sound designer and engineer, singer, music and film producer, screen and playwright, music video director and the front-man of multiple rock bands. He wears a lot of hats.
Originally from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, he is an ACTRA and SOCAN member working in film, television, and theatre spanning the major centres of southern and central Alberta. He is best known as an actor and composer of the critically acclaimed international award-winning production of Maev Beaty and Erin Shields’ tantalizing play, Montparnasse (2016-17), as well as for his role as Toby on Tribal (APTN), for his portrayal of Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire produced by Theatre Outré (2019) and as the front-man, primary musician and producer for the alt-rock band Credo (2016). Nick can be seen later this year on APTN in two network programs.
He is a founding board member and current vice-president of the Lethbridge Independent Film Society (LIFS) and the owner and founder of HatChap Productions Inc., an emerging, Lethbridge based, production company.
Bohle was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Jody and Darrell Bohle, the owners of Bel-Aire Welding Ltd, a structural steel company. He is the older brother of Benjamin Bohle. His parents were both born in southern Alberta as second and third generation Canadians. He also has Russian and Ukrainian (from his paternal grand-parents) and English and Canadian (from his maternal grand-parents).
He is a graduate of both the Art Institute of Vancouver’s Professional Recording Arts program (2010) and the University of Lethbridge's Dramatic Arts program (2017). After graduating in 2017 he has continued to pursue acting and composing for theatre, film and television productions while attending many acting and professional development workshops. He landed multiple roles in the Calgary based, Storybook Theatre’s 2018 Season of Change as DARRY in The Outsiders, and as a guitarist and actor in Huck Finn. He has worked as a background actor on multiple Alberta based television programs and has now moved into speaking roles on some excellent network television shows. Bohle has been the lead sound designer for multiple independent features, commercials and short films, most notably Derailed (2017) and A Wink or a Smile (2019) and is now in post-production as a producer and the lead sound designer for #Partytime (2019), a thriller feature film set to hit festival circuits in the latter half of 2019; and Rationale a dark-comedic short thriller. He is, also, currently in pre-production, co-producing and a principle actor in a classic western based feature with a modern twist titled, Black Falls (2022).
Nick is also a music improviser for improvised theatre productions such as Drunk Improv (2016-20), LinkedImprov (2015-16) and Gomorrah (2017-2019), as well as a composer and sound designer of theatre productions such as Inhabited (2014 & 2017) and Mars Ain’t the Kind of Place to Raise your Kids (2015). He also composed the independent short film I Am the Killer (2016) and was a dialogue editor and mix-down engineer for the 2010 VIFF ‘Most Popular Canadian Film’ Two Indians Talking.
In his spare time Bohle plays Senior AA hockey for the Lethbridge Lightening, skateboards, snowboards, golfs, plays tennis, hikes, learns new instruments (most recently the accordion), goes on archaeological digs, meditates and learns about quantum physics, ancient societies, theoretical physics and theosophical philosophies. He loves chilling with his old pal, Dax, his dog and exploring the spirit world.
